“Larry Pinkney is a veteran of the Black Panther Party, the former Minister of Interior of the Republic of New Africa, a former political prisoner, and the only American to have successfully self-authored his civil/political rights case to the United Nations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. He is an editorial board member of the online publication, The Black Commentator. He also is a former university instructor of political science and international relations, and is in the archives at Stanford University, California of Dr. Huey P. Newton who was co-founder of the Black Panther Party in connection with his political organizing activities in opposition to voter suppression and other issues. He authors the “Keeping It Real” column in the national publication The Black Commentator (www.BlackCommentator.com). He is highlighted in the book, William Mandel, Saying No to Power: Autobiography of a 20th Century Activist and Thinker (Introduction by Howard Zinn). Larry Pinkney also has been interviewed on national news programs, including The MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour.”
